Keyword Research Services - Great Idea Or Non Starter?

I struggle with keyword research. Maybe you also do? I can find keywords all day long. Most of what I find are useless though.

When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. After all, they should be giving out accurate info. Sadly, that’s not always how it goes.

The data returned isn’t accurate. It would have been correct at some point though. The answer to this particular enigma came to me almost accidentally.

I homed in on a key phrase with roughly 5000 competing websites. I was pretty sure I could get a good result with that keyword. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.

It didn’t take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. My heart sank, I thought my task was gonna be twice as hard now. It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.

My point being is that I’d have swerved this keyword if I had seen nine thousand competitors. As a lot of them were mine (or had my article on) I was competing against my self most of the time. A nice situation to be in!

I knew I wasn’t going to get lucky all the time so I decided to try a keyword research service. I liked the idea of good keywords being delivered to me every day. I had figured that the daily cost against how much work I would save is value for my money.

Of the keyword research services on offer I opted to try Travis Sago’s Instacash. Travis being at the top of the bum marketing pile. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.

If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. Two hours or so to me is quite valuable. If I contrast a couple hours of my time against the cost each day it has to be value.

Outsourcing, outsourcing, outsourcing. Seems to be all you hear from the gurus of internet marketing. I see this as nothing more than that. I’m giving my keyword research to someone else to do. That’s outsourcing.

You can find out just how the trial went over at my site. Earlier I mentioned that I ended up with thousands of articles on websites for a certain keyword. I’ll show you how I did that at my site.
